Turkey’s first House of Polar Sciences that was opened in Tuzla Şelale Park on the Antarctica Day of 2018 with the scientific contributions by the scientists of our institute and support of Tuzla Municipality hosts thousands of visitors every year.
The House shelters items and informations related to many fields from the discovery of the polar regions to the clothes of Turkish scientists wore in Antarctica. Models of polar life forms in the science house are just as real. It also has a room cooled to -17°C so that the visitors can experience the polar atmosphere to a certain extent. School groups are recommended to make an appointment before going to the house of sciences that can be visited free of charge. As required by Covid-19 measures, the House serves for a limited number of visitors.
