In line with our vision of becoming a leading country in the world with original scientific studies on polar sciences, the “National Polar Science Program (2018-2022)” (pdf) was issued and put into effect on 27.12.2017 by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology. The main objectives of this program are organizing national expeditions to the polar regions under the auspices of the Turkish State Presidency and under the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute (KARE), implementing the National Polar Science Program, establishing bilateral cooperations on polar sciences, sending scientists to other countries' science bases and establishing a Turkish science base in Antarctica.
In accordance with these targets, POLAR PROGRAM 1001 (Year 2022) Call has been opened in order to determine polar science projects that can be conducted by participating or not participating in National Science Expeditions (TAE: Turkish Antarctic Science Expedition, TASE: Turkish Arctic Science Expedition) to the Arctic and Antarctic Zones to ensure the realization of R&D and scientific research activities related to the Priority Research Themes determined in the National Polar Science Program.
